Abraham found me
I want to interrupt my usual Court Case blog posts to share something with you that happened to me. Something that it is totally amazing – not just what happened but how it happened.
But first, let me back up a step ….
As I was going through all the crap from the court case, I discovered Abraham Hicks. I don’t know if Abraham found me or I found them but I do know that I was drawn to listening to these sessions on YouTube.
The conversations about the law of attraction was more than just about what you think about expands. It was about momentum and connecting to a reality that I’ve always known has existed.
The best way I describe Abraham is the explanation from their site:
Abraham is a name. A symbol. A feeling. Evocative-yet simple-like we want our names to be. But who, or what, is/are, Abraham . . . really?
Abraham has told us through Esther that whenever we feel moments of great love, exhilaration, pure joy, stoned-out bliss, when we feel that Energy Flow rushing through our bodies, that is the energy of Source, and that is who Abraham “is”.
I can’t explain it any more than that. You really just have to spend some time listening.
Georgia, butterflies and playing cards
One of the big things I’ve learned is that when you put something out there in the Universe, it will come back to you. Maybe not in the form you expected it to. Or the way you thought it would but it will happen when you have put this thing into your vibration.
If you don’t believe that this can happen, Abraham suggests that you make lists of things that don’t really matter to you and see if they show up in your life.
After a few months of listening to these programs, I thought OK, let’s give this thing a try. I put three things on my list: University of Georgia (UGA), butterflies and playing cards.
I’m a UGA grad who lives in Florida so it’s not every day that you see other UGA fans so I thought it would be a good test of how this worked.
I thought about butterflies as it was something that completely has no bearing on my life. And the idea of the playing cards intrigued me. I’ve heard of people finding playing cards on the side of the road so let’s see if this thing really works.
The UGA showed up immediately. I went to the office supply store that afternoon. On the way into the store, I saw a woman with a UGA tshirt and when I was leaving, I saw two guys walking into the store with UGA ballcaps on their head. And from that day on, I’ve noticed way too many UGA license plates and stickers on cars.
Every time I walk my dog Winston, I see butterflies. I honestly can’t remember if they were there before I made my list. They might have been there but making this list helped me see them even more.
And then came the playing cards. I waited for this one to happen. I thought about it all the time, always looking for cards on the ground during my walks. Looking for cards on the ground in the parking lots. I’ve looked and looked and nothing.
I started to NOT believe that this thing really could happen. Maybe the UGA stuff showed up because we’re getting close to football season. And the butterflies were always there, I just didn’t see them.
Does this thing really work???
I wanted to believe so I kept looking. And one day it happened.
I was walking my dog on our usual morning walk and the wind blew a card right across my path. A Queen of Diamonds. I snatched it up and put in my pocket. (holy crap!)
My lunchtime walk on that same day, I found another card. I swear I didn’t see it that morning. I found the Two of Spades. I took that one home with me too.
Later that night I looked around the living room and noticed all the playing cards in the room. For the past few months, my son Jake had been obsessed with creating a magic trick.
He kept the cards out on the coffee table. Several times a week as we were watching TV, he’d grab the cards and try out a new magic trick with me. None of them ever really worked but – hello! – I had asked for playing cards.
And there they were. All around me, on the table, forcing me to pick a card, any card. I had asked for playing cards and there they were.
So what happened when I found the ones on the ground? I couldn’t help but laugh. It was the Universe saying, “Alright already … I gave you playing cards, why can’t you see them? Here you go … can you see them now? Do you finally believe?”
I finally started to believe.
My Amazing Story
In June, I started working with something called a Freedom Journal. It’s a book with prompts and accountability tools to help you accomplish a 100 day challenge. I got my book and I was ready to go – my goal was to make $30,000 in 100 days.
I had recently lost a big client and had been living off my savings and the little bit of money from online coaching sessions. A couple of times, I’ve had a project from one my clients Florida Hospital where I made anywhere from $1000 – $2000.
But between the Florida Hospital money and the money from the online coaching, I struggled with reaching my goal – how was this going to add up to $30k? But I remembered the playing cards and I believed.
Every week, I wrote out my goal for the 100 days – to make $30,000 in income.
Some days I would try to write how I would make it. Maybe I’d get pre-sales from the big launch I was planning or maybe a real big Florida Hospital project would come in. But mostly, I just wrote out how it was OK that I didn’t know where it would come from, I just trusted the process that it would be here.
Fast forward to last week === my big client, the one I lost, called me to give me an update about what’s going on (that’s a great big long story) and then she said that she got some of her budget back. She wanted me to invoice her for my fees and she’ll send me a check as soon as I can send her the invoice.
I was like holy crap – I added up my commission from the work and it totaled to $26k. I got a $2k payment earlier that week from a Florida Hospital project and then made another $2k from them last month.
Stay with me now …. $4000 from Florida Hospital and now the $26,000 from the invoice that day ==== $30,000.
I had 12 days left until the end of my 100 day challenge and I made my goal of making $30k.
I swear … if I didn’t believe in the law of attraction from the playing cards and the way to make it work, I do now 🙂
