I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

I know an old lady, who swallowed a fly

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who wanted to get rich

She struggled and fumbled because she would miss

She couldn’t get rich because she missed

And because she missed to catch the fly – that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who found she was stuck

When she opened her eyes, she was living in muck

She lived in muck because she was stuck

She couldn’t get rich because she missed

And because she missed to catch the fly – that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who started to write

Her world became bright when she started to write

She started to write to get out of the muck

She lived in muck because she was stuck

She couldn’t get rich because she missed

And because she missed to catch the fly – that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who found a door

And when she walked through, she finally got more

She finally got more when she started to write

She started to write to get out of the muck

She lived in muck because she was stuck

She couldn’t get rich because she missed

And because she missed to catch the fly – that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who saw her dreams comes true

The path was clear and she knew what to do

She knew what to do when she opened the door

She finally got more when she started to write

She started to write to get out of the muck

She lived in muck because she was stuck

She couldn’t get rich because she missed

And because she missed to catch the fly – that wriggled and jiggled and tickled inside her

I don’t know why she swallowed the fly

Perhaps she’ll die

I know an old lady who took her last breath

Having filled her purpose in life

Peacefully she slept
